    I’ll have to go off the reservation here and suggest we do not lose anything by being friendly to these folks. It turns the table on them; Already he said I hope you don’t hold me responsible for what my country did [such and such]…Unless Limbaugh said it wrong today. Now, when they fail they’ll sound hollow blaming ot on us like Ahmadinejad did today talking against Israel (at the U.N.?).

    Chavez called Bush “Satan” so Obama doesn’t have to go very far to exceed expectations. It’s in the nation’s best interest to get the feelings of hostility cooled off.

    I just saw part of an interview Cheney gave to Fox. He critized Obama, of course, for talking to Chavez and Noriega. He said that he and Bush ignored them. But what did that accomplish? They’re still around and causing mischief. It just makes us look small if we don’t try to engage them. And by the way HOWIE what exactly did Obama apologise to them about?
