If only the elephant were really that smart.

Har! The problem is that the US is NOT a conservative place, despite what radio talkers said – truth be told, most Americans want and will vote for real progressive causes, when explained rather than falsely demonized. Or, as I put it to a friend recently, all the Democrats needed to do was put forth a candidate people wanted to vote for!

motivemagus, excellent point the most charismatice guy usually wins which is something the Democrats learned in 92 but forgot in 2000 and 2004. “Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it”

Or even charismatic, DallasDan, but Dubya was never charismatic!

Bush was never charismatic, but unfortunately when loud people appeal to ignorance it peeks the interest of people who distrust intelligence. Right wing pundits are very loud!

Certainly you would have to say Bush is more charismatic (thanks Dale) then Gore or Kerry. I’m not saying they are not fine statesmen but the average voting idiot goes for the guy they would like to have a beer with and this time the Democrats got that guy.

I also think that Obama ignored the Democratic strategists who lost it for Kerry and Gore. Gore is actually a funny, funny guy who makes fun of himself readily, but did you see that on the campaign trail? You did not. Why they think that waffling is the means to victory escapes me.

Perhaps like in Exodus, forty years would be enough wondering for the current generation to die off.

    1) What did Horsey’s cartoon have to do with charisma?
    2) Are we supposed to believe that McCain paid any heed to conservatives? Stupidly, he stuck his thumb in their eyes and some of them returned the favor.

You’re probably right HUMP and I think
it was our fault. Too many of us did turn-on and drop out, which left a bunch of right-wing nuts to fill the niches and make the laws that fit their idea of what OUR life should be like (hypocritical bastards). Isn’t it
nice that we may have a chance to undo

    conservative repressions?
