OMG! Is this modeled after Jan Van Eyck’s The Last Judgement? http://www.abcgallery.com/E/eyck/eyck33.html
Pure mytho-poetic genius. Hey New Yorker, eat your heart out!

Does this mean Eddie Murphy is running for sidekick?

Even though I’m an Obama supporter, I must admit, this is a brilliant cartoon. Look at the expression on the donkey’s face. Is that one seriously nervous smile, or what?
And yeah, sometime we ARE a little too quick to canonize Barack Obama. Big mistake; at the end of the day he’s human, like the rest of us.

I still feel the canonization is a myth. Even this disastrous prezdint we have now is canonized by the loyal 28%. Our elation on the left that we will finally be free from W’s ineptitude and crushing failures makes it seem like we believe O is Jesus. That and the MSM and rightwingosphere keep insisting it’s true, therefore… it’s not.

I agree with lalas. The “Obama as messiah” theme is set up so that those with good things to say about Obama, or even bad things about McCain, can be trivialized away as cultists who are just following their leader.

Obama´s canonization is part of the smear campaign orchestrated by the nutbags… remember they need to resume complex things in two-word sentences in order to make fun of it…
See machado’s reaction and you’ll get the picture…

Dr. Sourpuss notes with joy the irony and humor here, though it may have been unintended. Looks like someone trying to tear down but instead is building up. This image should be a reminder to Obama, Dr. Sourpuss’ candidate, not to take himself too seriously; but then, he’s got Michelle for that. : )
