    Obese WTT hauling bible along with xenophobic condemnation of the weak, frightened and vulnerable. Brilliant Bell.

    Unfortunately, this is indeed the impression of Christian Americans that a whole lot of the rest of the world is now getting. As a Christian and patriotic American, I should be angry at such people, but I am just sad, really sad, as they are certainly not fooling Jesus Christ, only themselves!!

    Um, I’m an American, was born here, in a family that can trace roots to the Revolution and before. And that’s been my impressions of US Christians for about 30 years now. Bible in one hand, the “rod of punishment” in the other.

    President Obama proposed squandering $3.7 billion to prevent kids from dying trying to reach the US. Fortunately, it looks like our enlightened legislature will stop Obama from wasting this money.

    Well, we’re a-waiting for the RepubliCon’s counter proposal. Proposal and counter-proposal, back and forth, leads to acceptable legislation. Bargains are struck when one side proposes, the other side makes a counter offer, facts (FACTS!) are placed on the table, discussions develop a new angle and a 3rd way is struck.
    Just now we’re hearing RepubliCon crickets.
    Check that: Somewhere in Arizona Sarah P has seized a microphone.

    Mexico must truly be a terrible place to live. Why else would Mexican citizens abandon their children at the US border ?

    The kids are mostly from Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua where the drug cartel is running rampant. The situation must be really bad to motivate parents to send their kids on such a dangerous trip to escape it. Immigration is overwhelmed with the numbers but they have the responsibility to sort it all out. The money the president is asking for is to provide the resources to do this. Right now most of them will be sent back but the law President Bush signed years ago require certain procedures be followed to protect the unaccompanied kids. All the Christian conservatives are doing is bashing him for the mess they created.

    This is disgusting again… Constant attacks on Christians, but who do you think they are turning to to house these kids? Christians. Who actually WILL help these kids? Christians. Non-christians will leave it to the government, turning their backs and letting others do the heavy lifting. What others? Christians.

    I think this is why. I guess the true Christians thinks the non-Christians are slugs who would never volunteer to help these kids. He paints them as moochers and weaklings. Only the “true” Christian is good and pious.

    Humanitarians help, one need not be a christian to be a humanitarian.
    The words and actions of some who self identify as christian are fooling themselves.

    @Ted Lind

    Read the paper. It is church groups that the administration has turned to . The same Catholic charities that he keeps trying to put out of “business”. …. And to be a “Christian” does not mean you belong to a church. It means to be Christ-like, even if you don’t belong to a church, you can perform a Christian act.
