77 weeks since Newtown, 74 school shootings. Yep,let’s make guns even easier to get and carry, just like Las Vegas, where all five dead Including a bystander with a CCP,who demonstrated pretty well how that “armed citizen’s” chances play out.

Note as well: the guy in Seattle was taken down by a guy with pepper spray, some courage, and some smarts.

“Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew.
“The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—-assaults, robberies and sex crimes—-was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993.”
What I want to see now is the USA rate of Prevention of deaths by Concealed/Carry or by schools providing armed guards during classtimes. Honest citizens with guns and ammo will Save lives from armed students or adults planning on mass murders.

The news story that you guys wan’t see is there the young woman was grabbed by a couple of armed thugs on the way to her car. The forced her back into the house in the hopes of committing armed robbery. Dad and mom got their guns. Mom missed. Dad didn’t. One dead, one wounded. Mom, Dad, and Daughter are just fine. Thanks for asking.

Which is why I’m all for firearms being available for home defense- but not for concealed carry outside it.

And most importantly the killer had to reload because of shorter clips.

How about open carry? Not just guns but any weapons one feels safe with?

Heard that last night, then they broke it down most on colleges, or near schools, they also include domestic issues.

How about opening a few hospitals for the mentally ill.

jack75287 is getting closer, we haven’t heard why or the reasons for any shooting that these shooters may have. By the few details gathered from the press we are able to see that many of these people who commit the shootings are very mentally ill or have a very serious ego problems. Have the sense of entilement gone so far that they feel that killing someone is their right and priviledge? No one should fall for that false premese that less guns will stop the killing; that boy from California killed eqedual number of people with both guns and knives, however, all the comments are centered on the use of the gun, which makes me suspicious at the motives. I don’t hear anyone in the press commenting on his state of mind. The videos shown portrait a consided, egotistical and missguided young man. The authorities, although warned, missed opportunities to prevent such tragedies, who will be accountable for those missed opportunities. While no one is held accountable, from parents to authorities and the killer himself, the tragedies will continue.

Wring hands. Say, “If only the laws on the books were enforced…” Do nothing. Repeat ad infinitum.

Too bad the shooter didn’t have high capacity ammo clips. He must have had his second amendment rights infringed.
If only he had second amendment high capacity ammo clips, he would have shot a lot more and gun violence advocates would have even more to celebrate.

in portland yesterday the kid had 9 full clips, 100s of rounds according to the police. one victim dead, one teacher wounded, but managed to warn the rest of the school. the police arrived very quickly and the kid shot himself. on NPR today they interviewed a policeman in salem that has started a preventive program that teaches how to identify these people BEFORE they “snap”. he said there are many clues that indicate a potential problem and they have started the program in a few oregon school districts. in a couple of years he hopes they will have educated personnel statewide to identify these people. hopefully, the ACLU and the other lawyers will not ban use of this system on the grounds of civil rights, and enforcement personnel will not have to worry about wrongly targeting these people, as seems to have been the case in santa barbara.
