    This is one important problem with a police state. It promotes unbridled paranoia. The East German police state was so large that it employed between 2.5% and one sixth of the population, depending on which estimates you use.

    I can give the NSA a pass for missing the Boston Marathon bombers. I won’t give them a pass for missing the Fort Hood shooter.
