I’m getting the feeling that opposition to the use of drones is gaining momentum in the US. Is this true? It seems a few more cartoonists are finally taking up the theme.

What’s funny is that the wacko wing of the GOP wants to impeach Obama for executive orders on guns (though he made no executive orders on guns) or violating the second amendment (which he’s never done). They’d actually have some reasonable grounds for impeaching him on the drone strikes. But it turns out they LIKE constitutional violations in a president, as long as it’s directed as people with foreign-sounding names, as shown with Bush and torture.

Seems like the right thing to do. Can you imagine what mom and kids think over in Afghanistan constantly being watched never knowing who gets it next.

It’s way past time for the US to get the heck out of other countries. Bring every single last military unit home and close all the bases.

If we truly believe the words written by the founders then treat everyone in the world that way. Let them take responsibility for themselves and lets do business, work together to reach out into the Solar system and pave the way for unlimited expansion of the species.

I fear we will kill each other off trying to see who will be in charge.

The GOP screams, no matter what he does! He could find a cure for cancer and the GOP would find something they didn’t like!

Amazing the Republicans have forgotten all the stuff “W” and Cheney’s AG’s office told them was “legal”, torture, lying to start wars, etc.

Exactly. The message is important, not the messenger.

Some people here have said Obama is the new Reagan, apparently he is the new Nixon…
…except for being adored by the press.

Hmm, “flashback moment”, we were also operating in Cambodia and Laos LONG before Nixon “expanded” the war in Viet Nam. Yet, he and Henry kept that war going a LOT longer than necessary (longer than Johnson in fact) because there WAS a lot of money to be made.

Another possible parallel, Viet Nam has ended up today almost exactly where it would have had we never gone to war there, but their progress just took a lot longer than necessary. Also, Iraq is right where it might have been in ’91, had Bush 41 granted a few days of air support to the Shia in the south, and we NOT have wasted years, and lives, to get rid of Saddam, instead of letting Iraqis do it.
