Why should the working man have a “voice”?

He’s got nothing to say that I would be interested in.

Thatcher went down this road in the 80s – to protect the British manufacturing base, so we were told.

    Now we don’t have one.

In thirty years time, neither will you. And all your jobs and all your money will be somewhere else.

I worked in a plant where the Union was Unreasonable, Management would not take a closed shop, so they butted heads for two years till the workers were given the option of voting Yes or No for the union,
    we voted the Union out.
Right to work doesn’t automatically mean low wages, it just means the Union was too busy to work with management, or the Union was too busy buying Politicians instead of getting people to join.

The Dems (liberals) are all for “choice” when it comes to killing a baby, but not when it comes to joining a union. Now really! ! ! !

    @Kingoswald

How did that happen? While I think unions failed to evolve, I have no idea why “right to work” means losing jobs.
BTW, one of my motorcycles was built in your country!

“Right to work” does not mean losing jobs. That’s what makes it so “good”.
    .
Welcome to the bizarro world of NewSpeak where "Clean Waters Acts ae what we use to make the water “clean” by raising the levels of arsenic allowable in the drinking water! Where we do things like “Fight for Peace” and we’re all safer because so many of us are walking around with concealed weapons!
    .
The world where we sign The P.A.T.R.I.O.T A.C.T. that strips us of our rights secured for us by the Patriots that came before us! The world where dirt poor hicks want the government to keep it’s hands off our Medicare! Where the stump stupid insist that the scientists don’t know anything about global warming!
    .
The world where Wall Street “Reform” means demolishing regulations of the Wall Streeters.
    .
Right To Work is a term like Politically Correct. What’s wrong with being politic?
    .
    1. Using or marked by prudence, expedience, and shrewdness; artful.
    2. Using, displaying, or proceeding from policy; judicious: a politic decision.
    3. Crafty; cunning.
    .
What’s wrong with being “Correct” (do I need to get the definition for correct? I think we can assume we know what it means, right?)
    .
But put them together and add the vulgarian interpretation and we have it’s own complete opposite. That’s Bizarro World NewSpeak for ya!
    .
Right To Work Laws ultimately give the employer the right to fire you for any reason whatsoever (like you’ve done the job for 15 years and you want to be paid a wage that will feed your family.)

Is that the world where “Operation Iraqi Freedom” means the enslavement of the Iraqi people?
