It’s not nice to feed the paranoid. They live well enough on their own psychotic delusions.

A famous conservative quote: “If you haven’t done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.”

Exaggerated claim. The IRS isn’t going out to get conservatives. Its just that there are too many new groups who want tax exempt status that engage in politics. Simple Q & A on this subject explained.

I’ve heard this more from libs than anyone else.

“The IRS isn’t going out to get conservatives.”

Right. From the article you linked to: “The IRS says it subjected Tea Party-affiliated groups to additional scrutiny based solely on the name and stated goals of the organization.”

The policy has been amended, they say, but about 25% of the first targets were chosen specifically by certain words in the name. Others were chosen because they were critical of the government.

The Civil Servants are protecting themselves from ‘smaller government’ efforts. Can you imagine what the Flat Tax concept would do? Unemployment Lines would be filled with IRS employees and corporate tax accountants.

“They were “targeted,” were they? What exactly does that mean? Someone actually “looked” at their tax returns? Did that cause them all sorts of pain and suffering?

    Just another imaginary Redneck scandal."

Canuck, you can’t recognize the truth when it bites you on the butt. I guess reading isn’t your strong suit. Maybe your eyes freeze shut in the polar wind.

    A. The IRS said they scrutinized people depending on their name or their activities. I didn’t make up the quotation; it’s what they said.

    B. I never said anything about tax returns. The activity was holding up their tax-exempt status because of their name or activity.

    C. They didn’t scrutinize groups on the lib side. If they had, those groups would be screaming to high heaven. (Sort of like AP’s sudden “discovery” of government malfeasance when their ox is gored.)

    D. Straw men don’t always work. You’re just wrong.

Then you are not paying attention to other conservatives.
