Surely Netanyahu will resist Obama’s attempt to twist Israeli arms to cancel any plan to pre-empt Iranian threats to blow the Jewish nation off the earth!
-
Obama’s policy since Jan. 2009 has been “diplomacy” with Iran’s madmen rulers. Zip, Nada, Zero progress!
As Israeli Ariel Levite, former deputy head of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission has said, “The US approach has been ’too early, too early, oops, too late”…..

Nonsense. Israel, and its powerful lobby, acts completely independently of what the US wants in nearly all cases (witness their actions of late!), knowing they have Congress in a hammerlock. Obama can’t do squat unless he wants to bomb Israel. Israel, on the other hand, can choose to bomb Iran, just the way they bombed Iraq’s nuclear facility in 1981. If any Arab country did this, you’d call them a terrorist and propose we invade them…
And lest we forget (as this cartoonist did), Jerusalem is sacred to Islam as well as Judaism and Christianity — the country that bombs Israel had better be VERY careful…

I disagree, mmagus; Obama does his will by “going around Congress” with executive orders or by having one of his cabinet agencies (EPA, DOJ et al) write a new “rule”….
There are a majority of current members of Congress who support Israel as there has been since Truman went against the US State Department leaders to recognize the new State of Israel. The (ARAB) Dept. of State has always favored those enemies of the Jewish State. Obama’s new DOD chief, Hagel, fits right in the careerist thinking in the DOS.
-
Obama could hold up on scheduled funding, could keep on promising Israel’s Land and Israel’s capitol of Jerusalem to the Arabs….Obama already has done that and no doubt will reinforce the promises in his meetings this trip.
-
I printed out a short article this afternoon from
www.Israelnationalnews.com
“Soldier’s Warning: Obama urging Modern-Day ‘Munich 1938’ "….William “Bill” Langfan, WW2 veteran who was part of the 1944 Normandy landings and the Battle of the Bulge,
remembers reading about British Neville Chamberlain selling out Czechoslovakia by making it impossible to defend itself from Hitler’s land grab of the Sudetenland…so the Nazis conquered the country the following spring."
-
By demanding that Israel go back to the 1948 boundaries, disregarding the results of several Arab wars against Israel, where land was added to the State, Obama is trying to steal land needed for Defenses against new invasions…Golan Heights, Judea & Samaria and the “West Bank”..which will seriously hamper any Israeli defense. If Iran gets its bombs it already has rockets capable of reaching Israel….and Islamic radicals don’t care how many Muslims die, they want the Jews eradicated. Jerusalem is only a Late-Adopted “holy site” for Islam, to deny the hated Jews their eternal city of Zion, the “apple of God’s eye” as the Bible says. God will have the final “solution” in ousting all enemies and establishing the Land promised to Abraham and the Jewish offspring. God gave the Arabs of Ishmael much more land but Israel’s land is not to be Arab property when Messiah returns. Soon, I hope.

^Like the bush executive orders that unconstitutionally fund the church to the tune of about 4 billion per year (and are still in effect)? or like the bush signing orders that said he refused to execute laws congress passed that his administration would not enforce.
good for the goose, good for the gander.
and I need to zero in on another thing you said:
“and Islamic radicals don’t care how many Muslims die”
that is an overly broad and misleading statement. they don’t care how many muslims (or any one else) dies as a result of their own actions, right down to throwing their babies on the Israeli (and American) sword – so long as it is in front of the rolling media cameras. You are correct, however, they don’t care how many of their very same people they murder themselves, as that is not newsworthy. If you read the PLO charter and Osama Bin Ladens Fatwah, you’ll see that the murder and subjugation internal to their lands (which ignores the borders of ‘paper statelets’ that the west has drawn) is of no business to the rest of the world.

Why don’t you talk about Israels illegal ‘settlements’.

“Why don’t you talk about Israels illegal ‘settlements’.”
I guess that depends on who you ask what is legal! I think we should leave the cesspool called the middle east and let them kill each other with abandon. They’ve been doing it for hundreds of years, why keep wasting American lives and money for people that hate us and want nothing to do with our country or our political beliefs?

Jerusalem is hardly a “late-adopted” holy site for Islam, nor was it declared so merely to “deny the hated Jews,” it was the FIRST holy site for Islam, and the site to which Mohammed and his followers first prayed. (Islam accepts the Old Testament, too, you know.)
It was only after the Jews of Medina rejected Mohammed a year and a half later that he turned and started praying to Mecca. It is still considered one of the three great holy cities of Islam, along with Mecca and Medina, and is on the Islamic pilgrimage.

As for your other argument, if you think Israel relies on land as a buffer zone, I rather question your understanding of modern military strategy.

And neither do Christian radicals, apparently.

Israel is the one with nukes, was helping South Africa develop them, and interestingly, is the only country UP wind if they should be used in the area. Beside the fact that as with MAD, Iran’s only “weapon” is the psychological one of keeping AIPAC and Americans psychotic about any potential.

“… ‘settlements’… Obama has, for the first time, dropped the ‘freeze settlements’ position. This is a major policy change. I wonder if the Gaza 1,000 rocket attack had anything to do with it. The Pali’s have also been told today to drop the ‘we want everything agreed to BEFORE we begin negotiations’ position. The Pali’s will be left behind if they do not sit down now and reach an agreement with Israel.

“…Nonsense…” Wow. You really know how to polarize a discussion with a lead like that.

Should Israel save a “final solution” bomb for Washington, DC?

“… “final solution” bomb for Washington, DC?…”
I request that DHS define the Congress as a ‘Clear and Present Danger’ to the United States.
I would consider contributing to a fund that promises that none of the current politicians will be running for re-election, if it wasn’t past my bedtime, ha ha.

“…notice the second post…” Yep, I saw it. You have a habit of starting your remarks with ‘nonsense’. Intimidation is used by weaker minds. You do not need that crutch.
