No, the problem is they keep returning the same people to office. What we need is some new blood in congress. anyone who has been there more than 18 years needs to get the eff out of congress and let someone else in. I can’t believe that there wouldn’t be people just as competent or more so than the current crowd.

When republican congressmen are running scared of being “primaried” you will never get any cooperation, compromise or actual effort to fix what is wrong, you will only get ideological obstruction. And it is from both sides, but the republicans seem to be the ones most worried about the extreme fringe challenges because they don’t serve the radical special interests.

It is time to repeal the 17th amendment.

Yes, we’ve seen the new GOP blood. Funny, how the teabaggers died like flies in the first election after 2010. Sadly, we’ll have to wait until 2016 to get rid of them all. In the meantime, they’ve cost you some of your most intelligent members.

The problem is a certain party who signs pledges with unelected lobbyists and vote in lock step against the good of the country.

The only Senators and Representatives I want to keep reelecting would be Socialists who would restore the Glass Steagall act with sharp teeth, restore the 75% tax rates on the rich from the 1960’s, install universal healthcare (medicare for all) like they have in other industrialized countries.

It’s our fault for our failure to limit them to 2 Terms, we have the power to do this when they’e up for reelection. We Must Stand up in 2014, and vote out all 435 House Members and all 33 Senators up for reelection.
It’s up to us to fire all of them starting with their Primaries.

Yet you are the one screaming the loudest for Term Limits

How many Senators should each State Have, and how long should their 1st term be?
How would this be any different than it is today?

@Tigger
No.
Anyone who signed Norquit’s pledge or uses a fillibuster to obstruct/stop a bill on a regular basis needs to go.
It will be easier to dump the few then all. And it should send a clear message to the rest. If they can be bothered to listen.

I’ll give you this, Clark. Your ideas STINK, but you deserve major PROPS for honesty, unlike Lord Ears and the rest of the taxocrat party.

Read the Constitution. You know how to read. Just put your lips together and pronounce the words.

Take a lesson from France. They just tried the 75% tax & people started leaving the country in droves. The tax rate has now been declared null & void. And universal health care (as in England & Canada) sucks. I know people who live in both places. Need an operation? Take a number. You may wait 18 months to have heart surgery. I know a man it happened to in Canada. Take your universal health care & stuff it.Their citizens come here for health care if they can afford it. If they can’t afford it, they just die. And as far as the tax, EVERYone needs to pay some tax. 50% of the people pay NO tax. That is not right. Everyone needs to have a dog in the fight! And we are not a Socialist country (not YET, anyway) although Obama would love to make it one. The next 4 years scare me to death.

…so we can have astronomical tax rates too! Nothing better for a struggling middle class than more taxes!
