    There are innate biological safeguards in our species, evolutionarily determined, that make it very difficult to kill a con-specific up close and personal with knives, clubs, or fists. But guns overcome those safeguards as they kill from a distance; hence, murder rates for guns are exponentially higher than other forms of murder.

    
    If he did NOT have a gun, odds are very high that he would not have killed her.

    there is no gun control “issue”. There are American citizens accepting responsibility for their own safety, arming themselves with the proper tools for the job.
