Thanks to all that have served for America.

Actually, I hate Memorial Day, because all the “flag wavers” who sent us “out there”, come out of their closets, and bunkers, where they hid, counting their profits from our blood.

I know you served our country and I “THANK YOU” for that.
You just seem to harbor some hate. I hope you get a chance to see a professional about that.

Most, almost all, of those who went are the flag wavers. You can’t separate the two and presume ignorantly of that fact. It is self centered and without justification.

The tiny minds who fail to see that whether Krupp, or Lockheed, it is the INDUSTRY OF WAR, irrespective of “nation”, that waves the flags and sends soldiers to kill, and to their deaths.
If YOU feel anger, or “abused”, instead of guilt about that, YOU are the one who needs the mental health professional.
Afghanistan and Iraq, may be just the most egregious examples of wars for profit, and needless loss. We, as a nation, should think about that, as some in our midst speak; “Iran”.

@trout: “wars for profit” – do you really believe that the US has gotten involved in various wars just so some eeeeeeeevil capitalist boogeyman can “profit”?
That’s as silly as those numbskulls in the 19th century who believed wars were all instigated by munitions manufacturers in order to make money.

Been like this since God populated Earth with Humans, and will be like this until God finally has had enough and smites Earth as we know it and then he will start over with humans with better brain power and more compassion for fellow humans and animals.

Actually the “industry of war” is a smaller part of our economy than it has ever been. One could also argue that isolationism directly led to WWI, and then WWII. No industry there, but world war because people felt that it “wasn’t our business”. Well, Afghanistan “wasn’t our business” until 9-11. South Korea would be a starving wreck if it were “none of our business”, and Eastern Europe would still be “Soviet Bloc” if it were “none of our business”. Sometimes its not pretty, indeed it can be messy, but the alternative has been even worse.

As for the veterans that paid the ultimate price. I would suggest that you honor them and their memories instead of dishonoring them. They are the ultimate flag wavers. One wonders what others who harangue them have done to protect us.

Then it’s about time we told God to “stick it” and got to work creating peace.

The Doc’s got a point, folks, and it IS possible to disagree without “hating” America.
War profiteering is a part of the narrative and deserves some scrutiny. Even on Memorial Day.
