Decriminalizing drugs and getting rid of mandatory minimums would go a LONG way to solving that problem! (and save a lot of Mexican lives as well, but that doesn’t seem to be a concern for most Americans.) Oh, and I can solve the financial crisis, too … once you stop throwing people in jail for doing drugs, license the drug dealers and TAX THE DRUGS. Way too easy.

If you get executed you don’t fill a cell do you?

It’s exponentially more expensive to execute someone than it is for them to serve life in prison. The court costs, extra guards required and special facilities for death row inmates are far, far more costly than a plain old fashioned cell block.

haircut, not if you do it the chicom way. March them out of the court room ,bullet in back of head. Family pays for bullet to claim body. Cheap.

Maybe only convicting people who actually commit crimes too? We ought to have a constitution right to due process, but denying DNA evidence takes that away, more Republican anti-science bigotry.

There is a number of people on this blog who are defiantly anti-semantic. Satipera4, for example.

^ Sure, you just don’t think of suicide bombings as anti social behavior.

Satipera4 said (first post): “madness of locking so many people up.”

DrCanuck responds: I called you anti-semantic because you ended a sentence with a preposition.

    (gotcha! nerf, nerf!)

Lecturing in Tokyo, I’ve always had fun with my students not understanding colloquialisms (as in “kick the bucket” or “piece of cake”). Endless amusement.

“Piece of cake,” incidentally, is properly translated into Japanese as “before breakfast.” Get it?
