Don’t forget that by going after those in the CIA we lose people willing to risk there lives to protect us. Thanks Obama double wammy. Look weak in the eyes of those who want to kill us and go after those who are trying to protect us.

Harley’s already forgotten the thousands of soldiers who didn’t just risk but lost their lives unnecessarily in Iraq, giving Al Qaeda a recruiting boon past their wildest dreams.

The problem is that after eight years of Bush, his sheep can’t grasp that we now have a president capable of putting together coherent sentences, and thinking on his feet.

Let’s face it: If his handlers had allowed Bush to have spontaneous unscripted conversations with these leaders, it would have been a disaster. “Looking into Putin’s soul” and completely misreading it would have only been the tip of the iceberg.

Or as LateToTheGame aptly pointed out in another thread, “After 8 years of Bush Doctrine, no one recognizes diplomacy. End of discussion.”

Seems strange that Summers would include Putin in that group, given that Bush has already declared him okay after staring into his soul.

Oh anthnoy what about the soldiers? You mean the brave men and women who put there lives on the line to keep you and me safe? I am sure Obama has a plan to hang them out to dry to.
The only one giving Al Qaeda a boom is Obama. I mean come on we can not even call them terrorist any more or even call them a bad guy. That is how Obama wants to win the war.. lets just rename everything to suit our needs.
His apology tour has given our enemy a decades worth of propaganda for recruitment.

Harley, it sounds like you’ve already conveniently forgotten about the soldiers. If they’d been sent to Afghanistan to go after Bin Laden, they might have made us safer. But you know bleeep well they were instead sent to avenged Bush W’s father’s failure in Gulf War I.

You know, the Iraq War that was planned by Bush W. prior to the 9/11 attack?

I know this makes you uncomfortable, but as long as you continue to spew lies about Obama, and continue to ignore the multi-faceted failures of Bush, then you’ll have to deal with having your stupid posts ripped to shreads.

No, Ann, you really need to give up your strawman.

The folks who would pronounce Obama as a weakling crack me up. Here’s a guy with the force of the US military behind him, who has shown he is willing to use it when necessary (Somali pirates), and yet he’s decided to try something else in foreign policy besides Bush’s childish posturing. Polls consistently show that the majority of Americans favor his approach to world affairs. These naysayers are just so many sour grapes. Believe me, if Obama acted any other way, they would still be badmouthing him.

Finally, we have a President who is acting like an adult - taking responsibility for our collective bad actions and promising to finally do the right thing. He is also acting so much more “Christian” than the entire “Christian” right.

    Beware of the boogiemen.

I cannot tell what it will be like by the end of Obama’s mandate but IMHO, image is power.

If any of these guys (most of them organized powers the US can nuke, unlike Al-Quaeda) lift a finger on Obama, it will be their death warrant. Barry has the International legitimacy Bush didn’t even had after 9/11. He could nuke the Vatican city and the pope would congratulate him just to make a good PR move.

Oh, Harley, who was it that outted a covert CIA agent just for spite? It exposed a very good operation in the mideast and (someone correct me here if I’m wrong) got somebody killed. Who wants to work for THAT sort of government?

I’m very new at this (not pro, either) and don’t post, but can’t let this one go by.

Anyone recall a song that was quite popular, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T”? Most of the world recognizes this as a strength. It is cowards and bullies who do not. The right has forgotten another key principle of what makes America, “America”- honor.

    Murphy, Trout, Dred:

You’re speaking some mighty fine truths there.

Summers probably think that those 5 (Russia is in on this?!) think of America as weak and they may, but who cares?

Our allies, however, will see this as a strength and with the weight and power of all the United Nations will wipe the smiles off their faces pretty darned quick.

Give Obama credit he is trying , and the rewards may be the best president we ever had to this popint . President Obama biggest fault may be if he refuse to go after Bush ,Cheney Rumsfeld,Rice and their lawers. His lies cost over 4000 Americans young = plus over 110,000 Iraqi dead that is “MURDER” and every American has his or her right to have their day. This would help to never see another cook in the whitehouse like Bush cheney

I don’t think they’ll be able to, these far righties.

If things work, “it would’ve worked anyway and sooner had Obama not meddled” (see the new “FDR prolonged the Depression!” argument).

I’m not sure why we’re even talking to these people…

    We surrendered to someone?

I don’t get all the fuss from the Bushies. Obama bowed to the Saudi leader. Bush kissed the same guy.

Didn’t hear them complaining about that.
