Know what a firearm is? Supplemental manhood.

Actually its an explosive-gas fired projectile weapon.

The explosive gas propels the projectile along an elongated tube which directs the projectile motion forward, and if in a rifled-barrel, it is spin-stabilized for added accuracy.

This seems like a remarkably nasty concept, and not in a good way.

motive, twenty-six in the Army with competition shooting and reloading in my younger days. It never surprised me at the number times people would show up with a hand-cannon to target shoot. I shouldn’t generalize but I would venture to state the lower self esteem an individual had at the range the more they would try and compenste with their “fire power”.

oops! This is one thing that is best left unsaid. Crazies out here you know!

“Know what a firearm is? Supplemental manhood.”
Or if you asked the founding fathers (google them since I’m sure you don’t know who they are) a firearm is something that protects people from the tyranny of an oppressive government.

Firearms for our founder fathers was a musket & ball… not a weapon that can fire 100 rounds in a few seconds.
Corosive Frog said, about 1 year ago
TGS: plus, the founding fathers had to fight a war.
I agree with the supplemental manhood idea; I slept with a guy that owned three guns (believe me, he needed his supplement!)

Tried to buy a 9mm carbine this week. Dealer tried 12 distributors. No “black guns” available at any price any where. This is part of the economic recovery plan. One of the distributors said he sold $6million LAST WEEK. Dallas dealer was selling $100k a day 3 days after the election. Obama button wearers were buying before the election…”while they still could”
according to a Nightline interview. I knew I should have shopped before Halloween.

oldlegodad71 states: “Tried to buy a 9mm carbine this week”
WHY?

TGS, got your supplement ? You’re long with the mouth and short with content.
ralphman, like MIB do you ?

HUMPHRIES - I was criticizing the cartoon, which like Jerry I think was better unsaid. I’m a psychologist, I don’t need to speculate about the substitute-manhood aspects of overdone gun ownership – I can specify the motivational drivers in question!
TGS, welcome back to the fray. Recovered from the election? And there’s a big difference between “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” and “I get to use an AK-47 to shoot deer.”

As long as they don’t do anything crazy, I have no problems with the rednecks stimulating the economy in their own way. Actually I was thinking of arming myself as you know the rightwing terrorists will be crawling out of the woodwork especially down here.

motivemagus. Your point is something to think over. My post was only an opinion made through observation not an absolute but I’m still comfortable with my opinion, for now, a person can always learn more.

TGS – seems to me Tim McVeigh claimed he was fighting against the tyranny of an oppressive gov’t. Be honest… he’s your hero isn’t he?
When is the last time a handgun was used to fight off an oppressive gov’t?

Lalas, Hungary ‘56 comes to mind. Paris ‘44. People will fight an oppressor with any thing that they can. However I don’t want the carbine to fight the “gubment” but hungry mobs that will surely be upon us when Obamaboy doesn’t deliver his miracles

DALLASDAN, oldlegodad is showing his rear end. Boy is still used by those trapped in 1952; Paris 44, what a laugh, French partisans didn’t lift a finger until the Germans had already vacated and the Americans were in the streets of Paris. Hungary 56, better read and see who set that up and flubbed it.

The purpose of a gun is to fire a bullet. What difference does the looks of the gun make? I say NO to gun control. If I think you have a gun on you, I just might treat you with a little more respect.

D D you finally gave me my tag line to rile y’all. I’m gonna have fun with it. Humpty…yeah it was Eisenhower making the East Europeans think we would save their asses if they rose up…he just didn’t think they would. A lot of us went to our commanders to see if there was anyway we could volunteer to go fight. Now am glad to say we were brushed off and I lived to go to ‘nam. Also Ike’s baby.

Dale_H - Troops in Iraq were supplied with real weapons, not cap and ball muskets. Guns = necessary fact of life, like Liberals!
