    Democrats did not campaign in Florida during the primaries so McCain developed a huge lead there. Obama starting from zero organized a formidable campaign there since and I believe he will win Florida because of better organizations to get the vote out and signing up new voters who are not counted in polls or have only cell phones as many in college do.

    If I remember correctly, the polls said that Kerry and Gore would win by landslides - Guess you can’t count on polls very much. This will make three in a row.

    kellykid–No one ever said either Kerry or Gore would be anything but close. In Kerry’s case, it was the first time a sitting war president had won by so little a margin, which tells you how bad it was already getting for Bush, but how Kerry managed to shoot himself in the foot. Bush didn’t so much win that election as Kerry lost it.
