    We still make ours that way. If you keep the popcorn in the freezer until you drop it in the oil, it blows up even larger and plumper.

    I use a 60 year old steel pot and cook the popcorn in a generous layer of canola oil, and salt it enough to raise my blood pressure 20 points on both numbers. And coat it with high trans-fat imitation butter. Living on the edge.
