The past: less complicated? More complicated?

Oh my, difficult question. Hmmmm, overall I’d have to say past: less complicated.

Back then, a computer took up a whole room.

the past was a lot less complicated but you have to be dragged to the present

The past was less complicated, but the present is more complicated.

Neither less nor more complicated. LIFE is complicated regardless of when. Regardless of what technology you’re using, you still have to deal with people.

On the technical side, I remember when writing a paper was a frustrating task of typing, trying to correct, the wadding sheet after sheet of paper up into little balls and throwing them every which way, only to come up with a product that I think is good – and then find a typo.

Someone once told me I lived through the sixties. That must’ve been simpler

I’ll be 60 in a few months, and it’s my personal contention that life is as simple, or complicated as you choose to make it yourself. I myself enjoy the philosophy of “Don’t sweat the petty things, and don’t pet the sweaty things.”

Love that – had never heard it. I will make that part of my life philosophy.
I live in today no matter what is going on – that’s hard enough to deal with.

Less complicated. And now with technology, you’d think it would also be less complicated but nope, MORE complicated. Having to keep up with the teens nowadays is tough!

Funny you should bring up typing as my daughter and I just had that discussion. I told her about typing on a manual typewriter and getting a Smith-Corona electric typewriter when I went to college. I think writing a paper on a computer is so much easier.

Oh, and let’s not forget having to find a pay phone if you had to reach someone while on the road. I remember waiting for what seemed like eternity at many an airport phone bank or hoping I wouldn’t have to go too far to find a phone to call road service when my car broke down. Thank goodness for cell phones and especially smartphones.

Life today is easier in many ways.
