I’ve always wondered: what makes Peter Otterloop, Jr. think Ernest is imaginary? (When is Petey also going to tell Viola the correct annunciation of his surname?)

Did Petey just gush jealousy over Viola? Ernesto is so slick!

I also have wondered about that. In fact, I’m beginning to wonder if Petey might be imaginary….

Because Ernesto seems to Petey too bizarre to be real, even by his standards, and because Ernesto, until now, had never been where someone OTHER than Petey could reliably observe him.

Unless he’s a Folie a Deux, I think we’ve established that Ernesto is real

Yes! He’s an imaginary character in the imaginary mind of an imaginary character! Seriously there is something so deep about this strip. It’s uncanny.

    “hint: we are ALL imaginary.”

Gnawing on your arm helps, too.
