Bulls are colour blind… it’s the movement of the cape.
The cape is red so blood doesn’t show up on it.
But Alice wouldn’t know about that.
(Might be the point of the strip.)

Yes, Alice. TV cartoons have the most up to date scientific information.

C’mon Pevey (I mean Petey). You know darn well there aren’t bulls on a soccer field. Watch out for the snakes though….

Alice’s hair looks closer to red than the shirt does.

There might be bulls on the field if he’s playing in New York.

    Re: Dill’s comment:
    BILL GROGAN’S GOAT
    Bill Grogan’s goat
    Was feeling fine
    Ate three red shirts
    Right off the line..
    Bill took a stick
    Gave him a whack,
    And tied him to
    The railroad track.
    The whistle blew
    The train was nigh
    Bill Grogan’s goat
    Was doomed to die!
    He gave a cough
    Of mortal pain,
    Coughed up those shirts
    And flagged the train!

(I left out some repetitious lines. I remembered it as “McGregor’s Goat.” Seem to be several variations.)

    @Bruno Zeigerts

Just like cobras are deaf so it is the swaying of the flute, not its sound that keeps them moving.
