Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

I like Alice’s Charlie Brown style winter hat.

For a moment, I thought Alice was wearing a fez, and that we were taking a turn toward Dr. Who.

Interesting how her tassel is standing up in the first panel. A reaction to the noise, perhaps?

They won’t thinkk so when they grow up (even tho’ we know. . . they never would – even if Richard were still writing).

Those poppers were my favorites when I was Alice’s age!

They get so serious about their poppers. Love it!
I’ve heard little kids have these kind of conversations – it’s so cute.

Alice should offer to let her friend take it for a drive.

Right. We are talking about Alice here. She may expect you to share your toys, but not the other way around.

Look at today’s “Molly and Bear” about a related subject.

For Alice talking technical is boring. She has more fun things to talk about with her friends.
