Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

Guinea pigs do a lot in the field of medical research, as subjects.

If they’re particularly energetic guinea pigs, they whimper and run away.
Guinea pigs are basically very conservative, change-averse creatures.

Alice and Beni are way too smart! The guinea pig (Mr. Danders) has the right idea, I believe….

At the library the other day I found “Cul De Sac Golden Treasury: A Keepsake Garland Of Classics” wich had among the first years worth of classics, twenty pages of Sunday water-colored strips that ran before this went intio syndicate. There were a couple "**epic"** Mr Danders adventures. Worth checking out if you can find it.

@Stella S
This has most of the first 49 pages (with commentary by Mr. Thompson below some strips), and a link if you want to order it online.

I’m practicing inertia right now.

If only all children were that articulate at that age. Only the little geniuses are that way. So few and far between. But a talking guinea pig is just so surreal to the strip.

This is why I’m a mighty moose and NOT a guinea pig!

Inertia (N) Physics-A body at rest tends to stay at rest, a body in flight tends to move in a straight line. In a low or no gravity situation inertia still functions.

Now that I know the kids can understand Mr. Danders, I feel sad that they ignore his wisdom and cries for help.
