Little Neuro and Petey are almost indistinguishable. Except Little Neuro has a dragon, and Petey has Alice.

That’s the beauty of Little Neuro:
    nothing ever really happens.
    At great length.

Too bad it wasn’t a fire breathing dragon.

Little Nemo in Slumberland, Windsor McKay. One of the greats.

Is this also a reference to Winsor McCay’s earlier comic, Little Sammy Sneeze?

Here’s a better ending to the dragon story: Little Neuro sneezes all over the dragon, the dragon leaves, later develops a cold, then pneumonia and dies!

Petey is too sensitive to like gore, but little Alice likes the score of dragon eating people. Sanguine isn’t she?
