Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

A bit of good news, fellow “Cul de Sac” commenters! Recently I wrote GoComics.com and asked whether comments on “Cul de Sac” would be allowed when the “Classic Cul de Sac” starts. The regular “Cul de Sac” ends when Richard Thompson retires on September 23rd. GoGomic Support replied, “As far as I know, comments will still be allowed when we rerun the Cul de Sac Classics..” You can read about his retirement at http://www.kansascity.com/2012/08/17/3767240/parkinsons-forces-creator-of-cul.html
I had noted that other “classic” comics, including “Peanuts” and “Calvin and Hobbes” do not have commentary, and was concerned that I would lose contact with the only people I know of who like “Cul de Sac” and Richard Thompson. Of course, many of you comment on other strips, but it’s hard to keep track of who is who. None of the people I know elsewhere are the least bit interested – their eyes glaze over big time if the subject is brought up.
I look forward to continued association with fellow “Cul de Sac” aficionados.

Madeleine is so clever!

Close to a temper-tantrum there, but Alice is too grownup for that (and Madeline does think fast)!

I read and often comment on classic Peanuts & Calvin & Hobbes among other strips in reboots.

@Gokie5
The reboot I read most often is Elderberries by Phil Frank, another great cartoonist who not everyone can appreciate.

The only comics on this site that do not allow commentary are 9 Chickweed Lane and Pibgorn, both by Brooke McEldowney who does not like comments about his work

September 23rd will come too quickly I fear.

Everything seems to come too quickly. I am very glad they are continuing Cul de Sac.
