Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

Snow way…

Alice’s look of guilt is as good as a confession! She has intimidated the snow into staying away! (Speaking of which, we in Chicagoland have had two consecutive days of spring-like, 50+ F weather, and have more 40+ days in prospect.)

Just a response to yesterday. thanks to those that confirmed that R Thompson is away and that the ‘toons are repeats. It is apparent that these are reruns, fills as it were, which usually means the author is away on vacation. Vacation isn’t a point of sarcasm “DRY” it is a natural part of a normal working life.
To be honest, however, I did not need to know Mr. Thompson’s personal information. Now that I do, I wish him well…and I apolgize to him for the intrusion into what is a private matter. He and I are not friends, family, or acquaintances. He is merely the guy who draws a cartoon that I enjoy.
I will come back to this cul de sac in mid February.

Ohhh, I can see it now!!!! Ron Howard sees the light and finally decides to come out with a fun-filled animated sequel to ‘Backdraft’! ‘Updraft: even snowflakes aren’t safe’.

@glenardis
The majority of us see Richard as much more than ‘“…merely the guy who draws a cartoon…” His health issues have been well publicized, so they are not a ’private matter’. We are all wishing him well, he’s a great guy.

Sorry Beni but all three of you were the “warm updraft” that sent the snow crystal upwards.

reruns or not it’s still better than most of the toons running today.

Beni better hope that Alice is too distressed to process what he just said.

That’s such a shame about Richard Thompson…Parkinson’s is a tough disease. Ironically, I do believe Charles Schulz suffered from Parkinson’s too…it can’t be easy on a person whose life’s work depends on drawing! :(
