Once he decodes the marimba taps, he will be sure.

Petey’s discovering GIRLS! Ooh, now he has cooties. He’ll never get them washed out of his hair.

Alice is bouncy and chock-full of energy today. Petey has a portentous owie to mull over, ideally in the sacred solitude of his room, lying on his bed, feigning reading Little Neuro….

I wonder if any 4 year old has actually ever said “graphic novel”, or would know what it means.

I think with Petey as her brother she doesn’t have a choice in knowing stuff like that.

Sounds like Petey’s marimba needs tuning.

She’s heard it from her brother many times.

Once again, I say this is easily the funniest, most original strip in the papers and on the web. I’ve been following Richard Thompson’s work for years in the Washington Post. From Richard’s Poor Almanac, to Cul de Sac, to other humorous projections in the paper, he’s kept he entertained for almost 20 years.

    Agree.

And I’ve been following Richard since he was the guitarist for Fairport Convention.

Pete needs to listen to more Bruce Cockburn:

    Smiling girl directing traffic flow
.45 strapped over cotton print dress
    Marimba-brown and graceful limbs
Give me a moment of loneliness
