Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

I hope she sends Petey a get well card. It would cheer him immensely.

If by “cheer immensely” you mean “completely mortify,” then yes.

Dill is totally hipnotized! Love this strip!

Amazing barely scrapes the surface of describing Alice. I notice she knows Alice’s last name correctly.

Viola should have delivered the Homework herself.
The Petey could have given her the present that he meant to give her for Christmas for Valentines Day instead.

Those books can get heavy after a while.

Oh, yes, Doctor Toon. Violet should have delivered the homework herself. “Petey, your girlfriends here.” rings out when they enter the house. Violet is invited for supper and sees Petey carefully separating his peas from his carrots and then not eating either. The agony of having a cold pales by comparison.

Nice to know she actually knows Petey & Alice’s last name. On the other hand it just proves how cruel she is.

Crossover word balloons?

I don’t think Viola is cruel. Doesn’t it seem weird that in the same comic we find out not only that she’s learned the name Otterloop, but also that she knows who Alice is? There’s something behind this all.

It’s complicated but it goes something like this….Viola sweet-talking Petey’s narcistic little sister will help pave the way into Petey’s neurotic head.

I wonder if Viola will be Alice’s new baby sitter? And Petey can stay home and keep her company…..

I’m pretty sure Petey’s attraction to Viola is reciprocated, just in an odd way (and probably not as intensely). If Viola didn’t actually like Petey, she wouldn’t tease him so much.
That being said, I’m sure she knows the effect she has on Petey, and it suits her vanity to pull his strings…

Since when did Pinocchio have strings?
fritzoid said, about 1 month ago
Only at the beginning of the story.
If Pinocchio had begun with no strings, there would have been no significance to his finding himself without them.

Viola has met Alice before. She has admired her spunk previously.
