I loved Spike Jones….. No complaint here.
    .
’Course you have to be familiar with his work. Kinda the Weird Al Jankovic of his day.

Eduardo – Dad’s 87 and a WWII vet, and I’ve been to Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Nobody in our family will find anything offensive about Pop’s trip down memory lane. DBV

My wife, who is also my proof reader, believes that you can’t joke about Nazis.

Loved Spike Jones, but for some reason I always envision Mel Brooks doing this one dressed up in a Nazi officer uniform. lol
As far as no joking about Nazis, by the way some people act these days you can’t joke about ANYthing political or ethnic or things they are trying to re-write history about. Well I say, “Heil! Heil!” right in the political correctness police jackanapes faces. Sick of the PC nonsense!

So i can’t mention the Relative Who died in a Concentration Camp?
. . .how about imagining the Tower in “F-Troop” and put the two halves together. ;)

I always thought it was “Beetlebum,” but evidently “Beetle Bomb” was the SJ i cut my Teeth-on. Had a 45 of that when Turntables went to “78.” Can’t explain not looking at the label but i was Five-Six and reading. Yes English.

I recently purchased a Spike Jones, I enjoy driving up my street with the windows down and watching joggers expressions.

That great Disney cartoon can still be seen on YouTube, Ed – it could never be made today, of course; too politically incorrect. Perfect for the times, though.

I drive an ancient caddy with a tape deck. I own all of Spike Jones’ tapes and regale myself with them frequently in the only place I have left to listen to him.
“When I listen to Pagliacci, I get itchy and scratchy, aint no use complainin’ cause outside it’s a-rainin’…”
“We hate to go back, but we cain’t get our dough back, cain’t do a doggone thing but to set up there and sing…”
    Genius!

Well, the only people who would complain are those who don’t realize that Spike was ridiculing the Nazis.
