   Ed – I think we need to clarify something. Blythe WAS my favorite character until Miki’s Mom (the EM EYE ELL EFF !!!!) came along. That woman is hot. As much as I’m intrigued by Blythe and the graves of her 13 ex-husbands, the seldom seen but provocatively drawn Mrs. Amasawa has leapfrogged Blythe and skyrocketed to the top of my list.

   
   

   As for my “character in the middle,” I have a problem: Roy, Buck, and the pachyderm would be close to the top, and Grandpa, Gordon, and the Major nearer to Smokey-level status. That would leave Miki and Alice in between. Thus, my dilemma.

   
   

   If I say Alice is in the middle, she’ll be high-pissed she’s not Numero Uno. If I don’t mention her at all, she may come after me with one of Blythe’s butcher knives.

   P.S. Speaking of Miki’s mom leapfrogging Blythe, even though this is a family strip I wouldn’t mind seeing THAT sometime. Do you do requests? Mrs. Amasawa and Blythe cavorting in a gym in exercise outfits could be a great “one-off” April Fool’s Day panel!

   
   

   P.P.S. I turned 60 last Wednesday, so I guess my status as a dirty old man is now official.
