Definitely, the thrill is gone. We’ve been doing all that recycling for Mother Nature, and now she’s changing climate on us. Is she getting heat flashes? La donna e mobile.

Maybe our recycling efforts are too little, too late.

The recycling is probably not enough now, but it’s gotten better once big companies took over the profits and municipalities made laws. The laws to recycle electronics are encouraging. There is gold, silver, and various rare earths in those items, plus taking the lead out of them is a good thing.
Rare earths are used in the newer electronic gadgets for consumer, industrial, and military use – and wouldn’t you know it, huge deposits are in Asia and Africa, soon to be under Chinese control. So, it’s a patriotism issue, too. Eventually, there will probably be “Landfill Mining” to retrieve what valuable materials have previously been discarded.
