    If anything, too big. However, I’ll take it over the tiny little specks they’ve been giving us on Sundays.

    I’m happy to see they didn’t shrink the cartoon as has happened trecently. GoComics asks for files 600dpi wide. So, in this case, because I needed a vertical size for the cartoon to work, it’s a lot deeper/larger.

    In the print version the “Root” cartoon is on it’s side to get the depth and the “Water” cartoon isn’t. I had to resize it for online use.

    At 400dpi wide it would have read just fine, but anytime you go outside the specs you’re asking for trouble.

    I was hoping they wouldn’t ignore the file I sent them and create their own using the newspaper file. That has been happening in the past, and is why the Sunday Cornered files look washed out compared to the dailies. I adjust the “levels” on the online files to keep the rich colors and they weren’t doing that. I asked my editor to look into it a few weeks ago, and it appears they have. Too much information, probably, but that’s my sad little story.

    On closer look it appears the file has been “redone.”
    Here is the file I sent in:

    You may notice the color difference. No yellowish ting and brighter colors.

    @Mike Baldwin

    Wow – really preferred the brighter coloring in your original to the washed-out colors of the GoComics version. Thanks for the link!

    And that’s likely the actual source for bottled water.
