Frog Blog: Horn on a BenchI believe it’s a tuba. Couldn’t say in what key. Definitely not an alto horn; compare the height of the tubing that loops above the valves.

Re ‘Black and Missing’ on the Frog Blog, I think that it would be more news worthy to honestly report that Paris Hilton and / or LiLo served ALL of their jail sentence. But still, that would not be as important as the missing girl report.

FB—Define “unusual family member.” An uncle of mine reputedly drove for Al Capone (family lore, may or may not be true).

On the blog: The closest I ever get to a Great Tit is a Titmouse, a mousier American relative.

The Italian woman suffers from skirt envy.

The dog on the motorcycle looks like it was shot with a flash—I wonder if it was waiting in the dark for its master/mistress to finish whatever and come back to ride off with it.

Just for the record, the other, abortive, blog isn’t lame. What’s lame is Google never pointing to or recognizing the existence of FB. That’s what’s lame. And, Teresa, if you have to start a blog on Wordpress to emerge in cyberspace again, well, I say so be it!

RE: Blog – My uncle (my mother’s brother) stood only 4’ 1" tall. His 4 brothers were all over 6’ tall. He died in an accident when he was 52, but all things considered, he had a fairly normal life. I always admired him for refusing to allow his diminished size to limit the way he lived his life. -He suffered from a pituitary gland problem.

Unfortunately, I do not come from a long line of circus freaks, but, however there are a couple of interesting people in my lineage. The Reed family, on my mothers side, was part of the Donner Party, a wagon train that traveled from Missouri to California in 1846, and, after some setbacks along the way were caught in a severe winter trying to traverse the Sierra Nevadas. Most died, some survived, and some of the surviving resorted to cannibalism to survive. Kinda freaky..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donner_party

Thanks for the memories Teresa. Seeing the men at work post reminds me of when I was studying Veterinarian Medicine and had gotten a job at the local zoo. Being the new recruit, I was often given menial tasks and grunt labor. Little did they know that I loved it. I thrilled in being in such close and intimate proximity to exotic creatures and one of my greatest joys was to feed the hippo’s and then drain their pond and hose it clean of their watermelon sized poop. Never again did poop fascinate me to this extent with the motley assembly of excrement; from the diminutive Tit mouse to the Royal African Elephant, I was enthralled with the variety of shapes, texture and smell- oh the smell! I could go on here but I don’t want to come off as some sort of freak!

Regarding Frog Blog’s Google ranking, it’s important to remember that Google personalizes results base on what it thinks you’re into. So to really test this, it would be wise to first log out of your Google account or use a different browser from the one you usually use and then perform the search and see whether the rankings change.

OK, I just Googled “Frog Blog” from one browser that I use all the time, while signed in to my Google account, and then again from a browser I rarely use, while not signed in. In both cases, our Frog Blog was the number four result.
