Think it through Burl! Once Ma trips on Timmy’s baseball and falls breaks her hip she’ll be living with you.

In her day Ma’s bosoms could support 1,700 lbs each.

Such love and consideration. You’d think that Burl really liked his M-I-L.And it makes you think that Ma’s wedding china came out of boxes of laundry soap and the china first held apple jelly. (The famous Breeze & Bama collection!)

BTW, is that the GBwOF again? Can’t see it well enough to be sure. Even with the enlarged piccie it LOOKS like the flowers have a HINT of orange, but I just can’ be certain.

What a swell guy!Every woman’s dream….that is, if she’d just had a bedtime meal of anchovy and garlic pizza and coleslaw…maybe a hot pepper or two…Yeah, that might do it….one of those dreams that makes you wake up screaming…

Purple Sky…Amongst the mismatched pieces of stainless flatware I use every day there are still some from the set my mother gave me when I went off to college…

which she got free from a bank for opening a small savings account for me when I was about 12.

We used it in our family….she’d actually gotten 3 sets for 3 kids savings accounts…

So, though a lot of it has disappeared by now, over many years and many moves…I’m still eating with the flatware I ate on at 12…and it’s more solid than a lot of what you can buy now. It’s not at all old fashioned looking, but if my age is the criteria, it’s sort of antique.

I got some dishes from several people in our family. We ended up having to sell the stuff at a neighborhood yard sale. Most of it was cake plates, serving bowls, other smaller items and some glassware. I was amazed at what people buy and collect. Somebody bought the bigger items because she said she collected dishes. I will scream if another person dares to try to dump more dishes I don’t want or need. I waiting for Ma to get to the garage and fling the box down, breaking what’s inside. If the dishes survive this move, how much you wanna bet that they’ll never use them? lol

Re: old dishes and things, my daughter buys them for next to nothing at garage sales and flea markets. She bolts and glues the cups and saucers together, puts small plants in them and sells them in her nursery. And people buy the heck out of them!

Hah! I remember those towels! I used to think it was so fun to find one in the box, but of course never thought of the fact that the box was significantly less full because of the towel.

I thought Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner did commercials for Breeze detergent back in the 70s. Breeze came with towels, too.

GoComics would not come up this morning (and FB was slow and shakey too) but about free dishes, I remember the ones we got from the local movie house (and admission was around a quarter) and recently one chain store had knives and pans at various times that I collected stamps for- still have a few pans unopened in the garage. I used to have large parties and have at least 1 set of nice dishes that I’ve never used as well as all the unbroken ones from my first 2 sets in my own home. The flatware from then was not worth saving and a few sterling pieces are still around (I gave tea set to daughter- not sure if she still has because such a pain to polish). Only china bought this year is my pure red expresso cups to go with my Tiffany tiny spoon set and my new black Italian Expresso pot.

I see that the “Fragile” box is upside down (my last movers did that too) and Burl must know there is nothing of value (to him at least) in the box ;-P
