No hats allowed even on the way to school? Seriously? They must live in a climate that gets neither cold weather nor sun, ever. My kids are pretty much never outside without one or other kind of hat.
I only remember about “no earrings” for math lessons, and then all girls fixed their earrings into their blouse pocket.I think when I was a kid there wasn’t much chewing gum anyway…
