I’m glad I went to school back when you could take a pocket knife to school without getting into trouble! (Growing up on a farm, I was used to carrying one all the time…)And a slingshot isn’t a weapon, it’s a toy!!

Nearly anything used in malice (or in folly) can be a weapon. When will people learn that it is intention and action that determine blame, not object?

Making a wise observation doesn’t require one to be a member of any organization, no matter that the NRA has hijacked it for their own purposes.

Might as well throw in, “When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.” Seems like there are a lot more outlaws than there used to be. Pretty soon they’ll outnumber the good guys.

Silly me. I expected mostly comments like Destiny’s: “In the old days…” Instead I get anti-NRA tirades. Actually nothing much good can come of having a slingshot, but not so long ago every male carried a pocket knife, and many still do. Try taking one of those on school grounds. In all, what I’ve seen of Ruthie’s school looks a lot like a minimum security jail with a big sign: Male Behavior Not Permitted Here.

More guns for law abiding citizens, not more guns for criminals (like Obama tried to do).

But, out of concern for the safety of the President, perhaps we should make the Whitehouse a “gun-free” zone.

When I first posted, I didn’t notice the kid in the background running after the ball. Among the playground rules posted (11-2-2006) is “No Running.” Get that kid!
