I don’t think it is the word “ain’t” so much as it is the double negative….
“Ain’t ain’t in the dictionary ‘cause it ain’t there” Popular line in 3rd grade.
That’s true. “Ain’t” is a contraction meaning “am not.” It is correct, in informal speech, to say “I ain’t.” But it’s never correct to say “My sister ain’t.” You wouldn’t say “My sister am not.”
