Are we better off? You have to look at where we would be if "W"s policies had continued….Yes, I’d say we ARE better off!

Yes, we are far better off now. Respected in the world and leading the return from the moral and financial bankruptcy the GOP left us with in 2008.

    Excellent.

Druber, are you absolutely delusional? Respected in the world?? Where do YOU live? We are a complete laughingstock and the moral and financial bankruptcy quadrupled under Obama. Get a brain.

The lowest capital formation in 30-years; the lowest new business formation in 30-years; gas price up 100+% over the past 4-years, in-spite of the slow economy. Teenage and minority unemployment hitting 30-year records. Major municipalities going bankrupt. Health costs keep rising, not in spite of 0bama-care, but because of it..Compare this with the really bad economy under GWB – average unemployment rate over the 8-years = 5.3% – in spite of, or because of GWB’s shipping of millions of jobs overseas.

Morty raises a very important point, if not THE important point. The LEGISLATURE is supposed to LEGISLATE so the EXECUTIVE can execute those laws, and administer to the needs of the nation. Congress has become a 24/7 POLITICAL MACHINE, with NOT INTEREST in accomplishing anything to run the country, only elections. The “media” has put the Executive branch in the same position, because they too are all about the politics, not demanding Congress or the Executive RUN THE COUNTRY, instead of the election cycle.

Under Boehner, the House has been coming up with dozens of proposed laws, that micro-manage EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONS, and NOT doing the job the Constitution assigns to THEM! The Senate is then left in the position of defense, to keep their idiocy from becoming law, instead of getting sound legislation passed.

The problem is that Congress, and the public, are so focused on whether something is “left-handed” or “right-handed”, they’ve forgotten about using their heads.

What? No George Bush brought into the equation? His absence is conspicuous to say the least.

Better off than four years ago? The stock market is. And so is anyone invested in it. But that doesn’t include any Fox ‘News’ viewers, does it?
