My image of Becca is shattered. She finally slipped up; you don’t call your next hot commodity a “dim bulb.

Do you blame all your failings on conservatives?

“A normal person stubs his toe on a chair, curses the chair for being there, and then forgets about it. A neurotic person stubs his toe on a chair, curses the chair for being there, and then throws the chair out so he won’t have to look at it. A psychotic person stubs his toe on a chair, curses the chair for being there, gets an axe, chops the chair up, and then goes looking for more chairs.” That’s the way I heard the distinction defined. When it comes to castles in the air, I prefer Henry Thoreau’s remark: “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” But as it whether or not we have neurotics or even psychotics posting here and elsewhere, I am sure we do. Anyone who sweepingly denounces a hundred million of his fellow Americans with sneers and insults against “you conservatives” or “you liberals” definitely has something wrong with him. To the degree we have all become polarized and pitted against one another, the whole nation has become, to that degree, neurotic … or even psychotic, as polarization tends to destroy the very thing that everyone claims they are trying to save — America.

Anyone who claims President Obama is a Muslim Socialist out to destroy America deserves to be denounced in the strongest terms possible.

I had Religion in mind when I first wrote that, but it seems to apply more and more to Politics every day^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Sadly, I see very little difference between the two, anymore. To wit, the Governor and Attorney General of Virginia imposing their religious views of women’s reproductive rights on the medical profession and the women of the state in an effort to eliminate abortion clinics.

I heard an evangelical preacher interviewed on television a while back. “When I began, I thought politics was a great vehicle for putting my Christian principles to work in the world. I discovered that when you mix politics and religion, you get politics.” I think he got that right. Keeping them separate is as much to protect religion as to protect politics. Maybe that’s what someone else meant when he said that “my kingdom is not of this world.”

What’s the difference between a conservative and a progressive:A progressive would give 10% of his/her income to try to save the world from destruction. A conservative would try to charge for it.

And yet, surveys show that conservatives are the ones who give to charities. Progressives try to force others to do so, through government.

Now the amusing close the arc is when his father and publisher find he’s being sued by the CIA for revealing operational details, and that all along he’s been working for Duke’s PMC firm, and that when he vanishes for a few weeks he really ISN’T out chasing women at local bars.

    D’oh!

Some people are just easily ticked off. I’m a “militant” creationist, yet I managed to enrage Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis with an innocent question. I’m about as thick-skinned as they come, but I’m also sadly lacking in the tact department. So I generally manage to offend people on both sides of any issue. I’m a libertarian. My Spanish teacher tells me that can be cured.

Then again it doesn’t sound like you are embarrassed. I thought the GOP was into freedom yet they don’t want women to have reproductive rights or gays the right to marry. Where does the freedom part come in?

Wait! Didn’t Trudeau run this entire storyline months ago? Isn’t that how Jeff got his house? The strips with him telling his dad how much he was making were almost exactly the same.

So, Jeff’s book is going to be in the fiction section? At least it won’t be something like “50 Shades of Red Rascal”.

To compare same-sex marriage and women having control over their reproductive system to the taxpayers paying for your Cadillac  is indigenous and insulting to your fellow posters. The first two are asking the government not to interfere in personal lives and private decisions, the third is asking the government to foot the bill for your luxury.

Ironically the right wing fat cats do take more than their fair share of $ from the government. Don’t know if you are a right wing fat cat or not but there are plenty of them in the world. It is the welfare queen who is the fantasy.

…and just exactly WHAT do your comments have to do with the strip today (Sept 15)? What welfare queen? What fat cats? Or are you just desperately looking for a my place to post a rant? Pick on the strip or the cartoonist but don’t post comments, left or right wing, or ANY wing that do not relate to the strip.

Excuse me but many have chosen to make comments which were not entirely related to the strip. Especially when the strip is a rerun. Also many of the comments evolve from other subjects.

I don’t care to pick on the strip or cartoonist. I think Doonesbury is great. I just wish there weren’t so many reruns.

Most gay couples can pay for their own wedding since most gay people have a higher per capita income than straight people. Living in NY, the state makes sure that if a woman wants an abortion then she has access to it and doesn’t have to worry about paying for it. I pay for it with my taxes and I have no complaints.

I don’t use your taxes for anything. I have my own money that I work for. Do you live in New York? If you don’t then I’m not using your taxes, since New York sends more to the Federal Treasury than it gets back.

My friends don’t need or want your money. They are all productive members of society, with good educations and good jobs. They don’t need your tax dollars to make their dreams come trueYou’re the one who came on here equating rights with costing you tax dollars. Gay marriage doesn’t cost you a penny. If someone gets an abortion it doesn’t cost you a penny. Check your wallet, your money is still there.
