^^ without roads and other infrastructure to drive their weenermobile on, they didn’t build it entirely. Just like any company that relies on the internet. there’s a piece they didn’t build entirely either.

so for the shortsighted that think the government doesn’t create good jobs, just where did the roads AND the internet and all their related spinoffs and parasites come from?

Obama held various summer jobs throughout his college years, including working a construction job, working at a deli counter, selling newspaper subscriptions and interning at a law firm. Those jobs don’t pay for a college education, though. Most of Obama’s education was paid with student loans that he paid off. Most of Ryan’s education was paid for by his father’s Social Security. So, who is the one freeloading off of the government?

The simple fact, even the modified “Ryan plan” is pure baloney. It passed its expiration date when anyone looked at “the math”.

dan6pack….which came first, successful citizens paying taxes, or the roads built with tax revenue??-America had successful businessmen before any public roads were ever built….every settlement with dirt streets and explorers and hunters on their own initiative built an Economy…from the very first….the USA did not have a national highway system until Prez Ike in the 1950s…..-Ryan’s life history will outshine either Obama’s or Biden’s IMO.Obama was definitely the product of other people’s money and mentoring….Ryan is one of the successes using the original American Spirit of self-directed education and finding opportunity to rise above average. Hard work and study, not government favors, are responsible for his excellent record in government from age 28 to age 41 today……Both Ryan and Romney are ABOVE AVERAGE.

How apropos that Ryan drove a weinermobile. The difference is that only cons will be buying what he’s selling this time.

@bruce,you make my point. my company has some government contracts. the governenment pays PRIVATE COMPANIES to build infrastructure that supports business and private commerce alike.

so when the government cuts spending, it’s private corporations and their employees that get the axe along with the rest of us.

if the government didn’t build and maintain roads and, take for example NASA, business would be much more expensive and more difficult to transact.

look at all the private spinoffs from NASA alone.

Plus, i like my air clean and my water swimmable and drinkable. like BP and their ilk would really follow protocols without regulations and oversight that would keep my air and water clean. I know that’s selfish of me (to want clean air and water), but as clinton proved during his tenure, clean air and water is good business.

‘hey look the guy had a real job.’-I give him full credit for working in college. That’s one more real job than Bush ever had, BTW.

Ryan’s “summer job” was selling bologna. Then he spent his whole “career” as an intern, or on “the Hill”, considerably less touch with “reality” than any “community organizer” might see. And, he’s still selling bologna. The fact his education was really made possible by collecting Social Security benefits, is also, an odd way to form his “Randian” views on self interest.

Stormrider2112 said, about 13 hours ago@disgustedtaxpayer….Ahh, but the roads and explorations were to line the coffers of the kings that sent them to find said treasures (and the kings were the ones who financed the explorations).-storm, I believe Daniel Boone and others would deny your assumptions….LOL….and INDEPENDENT Boone also had a much better philosophy of how proper GOVERNMENT SHOULD WORK….as congressman he rejected the notion that government revenues should provide benefits to the “needy”….which is the proper domain of religious charity and local government by consent of the local district.
