Hug the plate! Hug the plate!!

That’s what my coach told me to take away the inside pitch.

    His hands are wrong — a right-handed grip for a left-handed swing

@jlsnook Nope… grip is correct if you want a level swing – but that’s one of the shortest bats I’ve ever seen for what I presume to be an “adult” cartoon character.

Look at the plate. He’s facing the wrong way. It’s the pitcher who’s yelling “Move in”

As far as I can figure, the punch line is suppose to be the tiny bat. In my 2nd (and last) year in little league, I had been using a 31" – 32" bat recommended by my coach (I was a big kid). I had a sub-par batting average. On a whim, I took the 28" bat (smallest we had) to the plate one game. That was the only home run the team had that year.

I screwed up. Joke is that the player’s bat is tiny. Only about a foot long. So he’s not gonna get much distance on his hit … But I drew it all wrong so it’s confusing. Damn … But home plate is correct. The “point” is towards the catcher.

I thought this was about Santiago Casilla’s at-bats (reliever, SF Giants, google it, the most hilarious ABs you’ll ever see – and he worked a walk).

I do not get this one at all. He’s a leftie gripping the bat awkwardly… no idea.

I think yimhere is correct. The drawing is correct except the bat is too short. It’s the batter’s manager yelling.

@ Moore. Thanks for nothing! I lost a bet. Thought the joke was the large shoes.
