like any person one should be open to observations of ones flaws and faults, however if it baseless and there is no reason to make said observations then perhaps the observer is at fault and should examine their motives. there is too much hate out there for there to be no racial motives to some of these attacks.

The fact of the matter is, whether you support Obama’s policies or not, a lot of the criticism of him HAS included an unnecessary racist component.

No one likes being called a racist, especially when one hasn’t made intentionally racist comments, but to deny that there’s a certain amount of race baiting in many of the public criticisms of Obama is disingenuous. Sometimes people are called racists not as a knee jerk reaction, but because they actually use racist language and imagery.

Hurling epithets like racist and fascist are a form of shorthand for people who don’t know about, or want to know about the details of politics and the people who practice them. This bumper-sticker mentality is much easier than examining the minutiae of complex situations/policies, and allows the hurler to avoid getting anywhere near admitting that there might be something they’re wrong about. Problem is, not only does it make the atmosphere surrounding political conversation toxic, keeping away those that could actually help solve problems, but it also causes the epithet used to seem less like something to guard against, and more like just another name to call somebody.

It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s happened to me quite a few. Sad to say there’s some truth to today’s comic.

Not a cheap shot, just observational humor. MSNBC has spent hours disecting the RNC and finding “hidden code words” that equate to racism.

You right I am a racist. I am from Mississippi, I have a southern accent and I talk slow. Therefore everything I say is racist. Also, I am getting old so I can’t run as fast as I used too, so therefore I am a terrible racist.

Right, ScottPM—call out racism wherever it exists. But the strip is disingenuous when it pretends that the FIRST reaction to ANY criticism is that cry of racism. No, you’re allowed to make your points, your objections to policy—it’s when you’re simply WRONG, or LIE about policy (FEMA Camps, anyone?) that people begins to see what you SAY isn’t what you MEAN.

Of course the racist charge will be ascribed, they Democrats cannot bear honest conversation. I don’t agree with the borthers, but as for his being a socialist, all his policies point to the point of view. Look at who he associates with. Known communists, Socialists and Racists. Go see 2016 if you dare.

What those who constantly use the word fail to realize is, the constant use of the word diminishes the original meaning. Pretty soon, people just start rolling their eyes, thinking, “Can’t the come with anything else?”

Sorry, no. Practically NO ONE is actually doing what Winslow is shown doing here. That’s been what Republicans have EXPECTED Democrats to do since 2007, and when you EXPECT to see something, you’re going to see it (or pretend to see it.)

Yes, some people throw around the charge of “racism” way, way too easily. That doesn’t change the fact that the Obama opposition has been racially charged from the start, and anyone who doesn’t understand this simply does not care to understand it.

This is what the Reich Wing does best: Take what they are doing and project it onto their opponent. Repeat over and over and soon nobody who watches Fix News knows the truth.

Crying “Racist” is an excuse to not liking what was said. Especially in the South, this excuse is overused. Thank you Scott Stantis for drawing the truth!

I was told by an African American gentleman that I admire that using the term Obamacare was racist, even though an extreme left wing African American journalist coined the term.

I was told “you are either a racist or totally ignorant” when I used the term "black’ instead of “african american”. Some of these arguments are so silly to me that I don’t pay any attention to the “RACIST” chant anymore. It just comes with the territory.

“Actually if you are crying racist, then it is because YOU are the racist.”WTF? Pointing out racism makes you a racist!!What rabbit hole do you have to fall though to be in a universe where that contention even makes sense?
