Why the long face? I just saw my first back to school commercial of the summer on TV back to school stuff already?! On a good note, the start of summer vacation begins again in 10 months.

I always hated the first day of ‘back to school’; the second day; third day; so on and so on….. .

My birthday was always during the first week of school. It was a conflicting time period. Wishing my birthday would hurry up and come while hoping that time would slow down, thus delaying that first day in class.

Today is the first day of school for my kids (it’s early in GA, but we also get out in May which I love). When people asked them if they were happy to go back to school, they always answered “yes” and I was told that they were the exceptions. My kids love summer and school almost equally. :-)

Now that I’m no longer in school, I love that Staples commercial. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

You can tell this is set in the ’60s, I saw my first back in late June.
