So long for now, One-Hander, it’s time for Milford Mudlark Football.

First high school games of the season tonight in St. Louis. At least a hundred of them. As usual, Milford is about a month behind real time.

Steve better find another place to play next year. I don’t think Milford CC is going to give him lifetime playing privileges.

Whew, nothing inappropriate to end that segment. Gil must be waiting for some transfers from out-of-state to get in before he starts practice. Will we have a blue-chip player with gold chains and a letter from Urban Meyer, or an ashtmatic QB who can only play a half of football? Coach ’em up, Gil.

I wonder if Steve has a couch that he needs help loading into his van? “Would ya?”

If I recall, when we left off Milford football last year, the program was in shambles having only one victory on the year and one of the few bright spots was a quirky little kicker with some kind of social anxiety. Let’s hope the new crop of players are worthy, because I don’t think Wildcat is going to stay on the sidelines if Gil doesn’t make the playdowns this year.

Hopefully the soccer team will repeat as Valley Champs.
