I doubt if even the Romney team had the nerve to float such a weak reason as “easier access without exchange rates” for off-shore bank accounts. And it doesn’t say much for the USA when banks in Banana Republics and other tax havens are stronger than American banks. Could it be that the reason for his money in off-shore tax havens is to avoid paying tax to the country that gave him his wealth, that he one day hopes to lead, and that maximizing his personal wealth far outweighs his love for and patriotism of country?
‘The IRS and SEC are aware of the accounts and find nothing wrong with them. Apparently Mr. Alcaraz is not sophisticated to enough to know this.’-You are correct, all we need is to rely on the IRS and SEC. After all, they nailed Bernie Madoff after only, what, twelve years of defrauding people?-I think all those naysayers should be grateful that Romney paid any tax at all, all those years.-Romney did pay tax all those years, didn’t he?
This is why Mittens won’t show us his taxes. We’ll see that he only paid 15% and the rest of his money is overseas. He wants government by the rich, for the rich, of the rich and to hell with the rest of us!

I love reading the twisting, turning justifications for Mitt’s offshore accounts.Anything but the truth will do for the cons.

I don’t think the issue is about the legality of his overseas shelters — it’s about the morality of the shelters.
