I’ve enjoyed this Mr. Crime storyline a lot and am looking forward to this new one involving DT held prisoner. This strip is as good as it ever was.

If Panda had somehow gotten out of that pool, missing a limb or two of course, there would be evidence of it. As for that Fritz Ann look, “designing” sounds as good a word as any. If we didn’t know any better though, does it look like she’s ready to give Sam a little shove? Naaaaah.

Good old touchy-feely Fritz Ann takes Sam by the hand in panel 1; in panel 3 it’s hard to say if she “has designs” on Sam or is thinking about giving him a little shove, ‘tis true. But I am more struck by Sam’s rapid conclusion that the traces in the pool are in fact of Panda, rather than “unidentified” (although it does help with story pace even if procedurally suspect).

That leaves Davey, lying dead from a bullet wound in an alley near theplace of the shootout. Won’t someone find that a strange coincidence? And Doubleup can identify him, but NOT as Mr Crime, and he will alxo telll the cops about Blaze, who shot him.And at police HQ won’t they ask "Who was Mr Crime?

Some more references re. old MI episodes & James Garner movie (the latter based on Roald Dahl short story!). Other similiar hospital scenarios include Flash #300, Buffy The Vampire Slayer 6th season “Normal” & even Batman w/ Legend of the Dark Knight “Masks” 2-parter in #39 & #40.

Oh. And as for The Prisoner…if anyone’s interested…here’s a music video I produced/directed for Boston-based band, Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling. Video’s a shot x shot re-creation of the show’s opening titles & it made TIME Magazine’s Top 10 Creative Videos of 2011—http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbUhmwSObto

Great strip today!Sam obviously thinking Fritz Ann wants to get him alone, only to discover Mr. Crime’s little pet! Some of you are reading an awful lot into Fritz Ann’s look in panel 3. I think it’s all business – no smile, no twinkle in the eye…And don’t worry, the crime scene team will confirm Sam’s conclusion. Just think of the strip as a TV cop show, we can’t see everything they do, because they’ve only got 60 minutes to tell a story.

Nice sequence today. This dispels any questions about Panda. When they open the barracuda they’ll find the remains of that Apparatus gangster Doubleup dispatched as well. The only thing hanging now is when they will find Davey’s body, if he is indeed dead. Way to go, Mike!

Getting back on topic. Do like the opening panel bit from today as well. Sam’s “Fritz Ann…” speaks volumes.

Good old Sam – it’s been a while since he uttered his famous “oy” – and dropped his cigarette from his lips in surprise (look closely at panel # 2.) If he starts missing Tracy, and begins to suspect something is amiss, we will see action!

I still want to know what kind of body armor or whatever Mumbles was wearing that kept him from being fatally shot.

Sydney – best story in 32 years, would that be the Art Dekko case? Was that the last series the NY Post ran full page in the comics?

It would have been more believable if it had been a shark in that pool instead of a barracuda. Hope that pool water was salt water. Barracudas are reef predators.

From Sam’s statement, I suspect that the MCS are going to surmise that Panda was the new Mr Crime and stop looking further. I wonder if Davey rigged it so that Panda’s computer would be wiped clean as well.

Hi Eldo. Band is something of a high-concept— all their song titles are Prisoner episode titles, they dress in Village attire on stage, etc. They wanted definitive music video for their debut & the iconic credit re-creation was that calling card. I leave any messages and/or interpretations to the viewers ;)
