They don’t want fathers anymore, but instead the woman should be married to the State, which will feed and house the children. Fathers are “nice to have but not really necessary.”Statistics of how kids without fathers are twice as likely to pursue a career in crime do not deter this “progressive” opinion.Every legal and religious document going back even before the Bible has rules for how property is to be passed on from father to son, rules that don’t make sense without a nuclear family.What you mistake for a “village” from history is a close-knit collection of nuclear families who look out for each other. That’s what’s missing today. People in modern cities can live in a condo for 20 years and not know the person who lives next door.Now, I’m not making judgements here. I’m not saying it’s good, bad or indifferent. I will state that I have a preference for the nuclear family, but that’s me. I’m a “live and let live” kind of guy.Indeed, to use another example, I have no complaint against polygamy. Marry as many people as you want, I don’t care. What rubs me the wrong way are some notorious examples where the man married a couple dozen women, then put them all on welfare as “unmarried mothers.” That’s just plain fraudulent.But don’t try to tell me the nuclear family is “modern invention” because it’s not. It goes back a looooong way.
