Democrat’s Plan ‘B’ is to be seen by voters as lining up with R to work on fixing the bad parts. Otherwise, D will not be re-elected and ObamaCare will be repealed in its entirety.
rightisright, you see “socialized medicine” everywhere you look, when it really isn’t so – the cartoon plainly says “Health Care” not anything else. And do keep believing that this makes Romney – who came up with this plan originally in MA – the winner. Really. It’s funny listening to you see reality through your delusions.
Anyone worth voting for would already have had a plan B ready to announce waiting just in case the Supreme Court didn’t go the way they expected. Mitt should have been able to have a press conference at 5pm last night to outline his plan, what it’s goals were to be and how he would want us to pay for it. The problem is Mitt goes out of his way to avoid giving any details. He does not want people to know what he has planned. And I doubt if he knows himself. He probably hasn’t received instructions from his owners yet.
Mitt says he’s going to get rid of Obamacare, except he’ll keep the idea that everyone should have insurance, and of course he’ll keep the idea that no one should lose their insurance if they get sick, and he’ll keep the idea that no one should be denied because of a preexisting condition, and he’ll keep the idea that there should be no lifetime cap on benefits. I guess he’ll change the name to Romneycare, and then it will be okay.
It’s not socialized medicine unless it’s medicine that’s socialized. This is private insurance, paid for by individual citizens, the conservative alternative to socialized medicine. Until you understand that, you won’t understand Obamacare / Romneycare. It’s been the law for two years, you could have spent some time learning about it before making a fool of yourself.
You mean the single payer system that the President wanted in the first place? You know the one that all the GOPs were railing against? The one that was replaced by the mandate demanded by the GOP? You guys wanted this mandate, now you have it. Such sour grapes indeed.
Suggerstion: Try checking facts before making them up.
Q: How much will the “tax” penalty be for going without health insurance?
A: The minimum assessment will be $695 per person (but no more than $2,085 per family) in 2016, when fully phased in. The amount can be higher depending on income. But there are exemptions for low-income persons and others.
But it will be less to start. The minimum penalty per person will start at $95 in 2014, the first year that the law will require individuals to obtain coverage. And it will rise to $325 the following year.
Well, while Romney may not have yet come up with his own particular “Plan B”, the Tea(publican) Potty certainly has; it goes like this: “If you have a serious illness, or accident, and can’t afford to pay the high costs of care, DIE OFF, and get the hell out of the way.”-————————You forgot to mention part 2 of the TBPlan.“Don’t you DARE touch my Medicare!!!”
I work 4 jobs, and yet don’t have enough money to pay the annual fine, let alone any sort of health insurance premium.[]In one fell swoop, this law just made me a criminal.
I’m not surprised he can’t get it up. But Romney should look at the bright side. In 2014 he can get affordable health insurance to help with his “little problem.”
“…..Well, it’ll save YOUR country’s leaders from having to fly here from socialistland for the best health care in the world…since soon ours will suck as bad as yours…..”.World Health Organization (WHO) ranks U.S. health care 37th in the world. But cheer up, you’re one ranking ahead of Slovenia. Although one ranking behind Costa Rica.
I assume this does not weigh health technology very highly, because I think if it did, the U.S. would come out higher. What it means is that affordability and availability to the masses really sucks.
By the way, give up on one of your favourite chestnuts that a certain provincial premier flew to Florida to get better care. The story is incomplete and inaccurate.
Don’t be so hard on yourself, Cuba ranks two places lower than the U.S. on the WHO ranking system, at 39th spot. But, I’m not going to shout from the rooftops that these are the irrefutable true world rankings. The ranks are what they are according to information available, assumptions, and methodology. I wouldn’t dismiss WHO as corrupt – that’s too easy and narrow minded. But even WHO acknowledges the difficulty in providing a fair, objective, and uncontroversial ranking, and no longer provides the information..World Life Expectancy is a useful indicator of health care. There the U.S. ranks 30th at 78.2 years. Cuba is about 7 months less at 77.6 years – not bad for a poor country that is intentionally kept poorer by the U.S.’s economic and trade embargo. The top four countries in life expectancy are Japan, Singapore, Australia, and Canada. .These statistics support what I’ve heard about Cuba and seen in my one trip to Cuba – they don’t have a Cadillac system, but it’s not bad. Definitely not substandard and filthy (your prejudices are showing). Many Americans would gladly use it, if it was available to them..Face it, dear Righty, your health care system is the most expensive in the world and has some serious flaws – availability to the masses and affordability being the most obvious. Instead of the knee jerk fantasy about it being the best in the world inspired under God, why not become part of the movement to fix it, which is what the ACA is all about. My U.S. family on both coasts will thank you.
It’s true, the USA offers the best medical care that money money money can buy. Is it any wonder that rich foreigners are encouraged to come here for their medical procedures? Regular AMERICANS certainly can’t afford access to them, and they’ve got to make their profits somehow.
“…..The move raised questions about the quality and availability of health care services and procedures in Canada’s health care system…..”.Okay, one more time. Danny Williams, former premier of Newfoundland, is a rich man who maintains a home in Newfoundland and a winter home in Florida. As a resident of a small and poorer province, he did not have access to a hospital in his home province that could do his heart surgery. He could have chosen surgery in a larger hospital in a number of other provinces, but it would have been far from home. As there was a hospital close to his Florida home capable of the surgery, and money being no object, that’s the hospital he chose. .Your San Francisco Chronicle article appears to range from really inaccurate to highly biased. U.S. hospitals being a popular holiday destination for 40,000 Canadians is ridiculous. I know lots of snow birds and travellers to the U.S.. They have one practice in common – get well checked out before leaving, and if something happens on the road, get home ASAP.
Gawd, you’re selective in support of your extreme right wing views..“…..obamacare is about expanding government power, not health……” .So you’re okay in your conservative ideals to have 30 million uninsured sponge on the system by using the emergency system at no cost to them, but at the same time receiving second rate health care. Sounds like “class warfare” to me..“….But I’ll humor you: You really think price controls, more bureaucrats and tax hikes by the socialists are going to make the health care industry leaner, cheaper, more efficient and innovative?….”.Possibly some, but not much. The Republican defeat-Obamaists made sure the ACA did not make him look too good. Get rid of the insurance companies from the mix, who add 30%+ to costs and have yet to cure one patient, and you’ll have something..“……The Ugly Truth About Canadian Health Care….”.Another cherry-picked link to make “socialized healthcare” look bad. Interesting that Dr. Gratzer found Jesus while interning at a Winnipeg hospital in 1997, where he witnessed first-hand the horrors of the Canadian healthcare system. In 1997 I was also in a Winnipeg hospital, as a patient being treated for colon cancer. My experiences were much different than the good Doctor’s observations. But then, I was not writing a book on the evils of “socialized medicine” nor hoping to market large quantities to a gullible conservative American public eager to reinforce their anti-government dogmas.
“…..The Canadian Province next door was farther away than Florida? ….”.What? Well okay, marks for geography only..“……A millionaire…..blah, blah, blah. Is that what you’re trying to say?”.No. Read it again. This time concentrate.
Just got a bill for a $1,100 prescription. That’s $1,100 in America—$100 in Canada for the exact same product & amount. People are dying so Mitt & friends can eat their cavier in their mansions.
