Why are women emotionally smarter than men? They actually use their emotion……and leftwing, are you sure?

Women aren’t superior to men, just different. And individuals come in all shapes, sizes and temperments. Depends on who is in what circumstances when.

After over 30 years in mfg, I have to say that my experience is that women in groups get things done. They tend to get more accomplished because they listen to everyone in the group, come to a consensus and then implement the plan. Of course, women doing the organizing, planning and execution in mfg is rare, but it does happen :-)

Women have proven themselves to be more intelligent, emotionally. An old friend of mine found a passage in the Kabbalah about how women cry more, because they understand the world better. Just sayin’….

Yes, women are much more attuned to the emotional state of those around them. When the situation is primarily about emotions and feelings, women tend to make better decisions. On the other hand, when the situation is primarily about a physical-world problem, men (who tend to be more problem-and-solution oriented) can make better decisions. For example, it’s nice that all the women in the car have talked out how they feel about this flat tire, but they’re not going anywhere till the guy gets out the jack and changes it.

I have certainly observed that men are more intelligent with women in the group, but I am told that the converse is also true of women.

Hello Neighbors,As an old married guy celebrating 35 years of dating the same woman, and as the father of two remarkable young women- one a major the other an executive- I can only quote the person who said, “When a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do, he finds the woman who knows how to get it done.”Thanks mom.(a one time executive secretary for a major cpa firm.)C.

As someone whose marital track record isn’t exactly stellar, I definitely am not going to comment about personal relationships and emotional smarts. I will say, on the business side of things, I have always found that a woman’s perspective in the conference room was usually more perceptive and emotionally invested and therefore more valued than some of her male counterparts.

To me, the salient and relevant point is that neither men nor women are nearly as intelligent as we need to be to make this endeavor called Planet Earth work properly. Of the now 7 billion inhabitants, how many would you estimate are living the life you would like to live? We are destroying the planet itself, there is still a great deal of economic injustice, and many people still blindly follow the superstitions and silly myths of those who lived thousands of years ago. It’s my opinion that we all need to get a lot more intelligent, learn to think more critically, and question our “normals” and quickly, or we may find ourselves, in this country at least, with a leader who believes his and his wife’s underwear wards of evil spirits. Trudeau’s underlying theme to this strip is: “we can do better.”

Actually, I’m glad he’s still around for a couple of reasons. First, I think it’s good to have the opposing views out there – how else would the undecided know who not to align themselves with if we didn’t have him laughably comparing conservatives with pre-civil-rights blacks, or demonstrating his inability to weigh the relative reliabilty of different sources of evidence? Second, the price of free speech is that one occasionally has to listen to the ranting of borderline nuts. If we don’t allow him to go on, sometime in the dark future, it might be you, Susan, who is not allowed to voice your opinion in your chosen forum. And finally, I’m still trying, unsuccessfully, to understand the mental processes that compel someone to arrive at his positions. The more I hear from him, the better a chance I have. So, I say Sgt, rave on

Is everyone here missing Trudeau’s point? It’s not that men and women are smarter or emotionally smarter. It has to do with the idea of collective thinking, that is, thinking in groups. Since women are emotionally wired to converse and share emotionally, they tend to excel here. As Mike states, “Group IQ doesn’t correlate with the average IQ of its members” meaning the average individual IQ. In groups, women will think better as opposed to men who operate better on an individual basis. (Just leave me alone, I need to think about this, says the man. As opposed to the woman who says, I need to talk to my mom, sister, BFF, so I can think about this.)

Erinbliss is the only one who came close to what Garry is trying to get across here. It has nothing to do with individual intelligence or IQ. It has to do with collective smarts displayed in a group. That’s why a team of women versus a team of men will generally win at games like Pictionary, Catchphrase, or Apples to Apples.

Have fun and stay busy – Luke 19:13

wcorvi, research shows (now that people bothered to look) that both men and women have hormonal fluctuations over time it isn’t just women and their monthly cycle, and I think we all know that both men and women have hormones that can influence behavior. (testosterone and estrogene being the most famous “sex” hormones). Darsan 54, I agree with you. Not a fan of typifying people to begin with. We are all HUMAN BEINGS first and foremost. Gendered stereotypes are just annoying. And we need to recognize that nature and nurture (culture AND biology) are so tangled up here, and there is NO WAY scientifically (at least ethically) to determine for sure whether a certain “gendered” trait is caused by cultural upbringing or biology.

The “more women”, not ALL women. Matriarchies TEND to be less violent, and more restrained, than patriarchies. They also, as with “religions” tend to be more inclusive and less dictatorial if women have at least equal say. “Science” tends toward the emotional basis of analysis, politics the wild eyed extremism of “emotional LACK of intelligence”.

Balance is best, in almost all situations, and “business”.

Men in the plural are more inclined to compete with one another, even whan (as in a committee) they’re focused on a common goal. “I should be the leader, not you.” “If we adopt my plan rather than your plan, I win!” Women in the plural are more likely to cooperate with one another.

(Of course, this is not to say that women never compete with one another, nor that men are incapable of cooperation.)

I read of a study where they game-playing methods of young boys and young girls were compared. In competitive play where one child (or team) had a clear advantage over the other, boys were more likely to negotiate handicaps (e.g.head starts, two-for-one scoring, etc.) to put things on an even footing, while girls were more likely to abandon that particular game in favor of something else where neither side had an advantage.

Again, as has been pointed out elsewhere above, these are tendencies, not universal truths.

As I’ve said before, it’s pretty hard to have a rational discussion with someone who uses Sheriff Joe as his primary source. But if I remember right, you listed Snopes as a reliable source. Snopes doesn’t address the draft record or the INS records, but they do address the birth certificate and the stolen SSN, and they label both stories as false. But, let me guess – you’re still not persuaded, are you?

Darsan54 is, however, correct. Neither men, nor women, are superior. We are different from each other, and that is a great and powerful thing. However while some men are superior in a given situation to some women, the opposite is equally true that some women are superior to men in a given situation. It balances out that neither is superior.

Not facts, just fallacies and accusations without one shred of proof being trotted out on Fox as “facts” And as for "Sheriff Joe, that racist bigot couldn’t tell a felon from a melon. His reelection just points to the collective stupidity of Maricopa County, Arizona. He was looking at a computer scan and decided it was computer generated. Well DUH, it’s a SCAN on a COMPUTER. He is neither a documents expert, nor a computer expert, and apparently does not have either on his staff. Please, try finding some REAL facts, not Fox lies, then report back.

Boy, there are some many comments that I want to respond to either in agreement or as a remark. I agree with those who responded to Leftwingpatriot who couldn’t see his own point – haha! CDowns mom was probably “only” an executive secretary because at the time she couldn’t go any higher – but she still probably knew the firm inside out. Puddleglum1066 seems to miss the point that while the women may talk about the tire, they not only don’t have the strenghth (sometimes) to turn the lugnuts, but they do have the smarts to let a guy do the grunt and dirty work. I just think it was a good comic overall!

COLD CASE POSSE? That stupidity? Arpaio has no training in document analysis THAT IS A FACT, yet he voiced the opinion Faux Snooze told him to tell. So-called "Sheriff Joe Arpiao is not bothering to investigate REAL crimes in Maricopa County because he is busy pretending to be a federal official. He is wasting taxpayer money, and I thought that was something you Tea Baggers hated! I lived in Arizona long enough to see how big a waste of space he is, and by NOT getting any news from Fox, I am better informed. Hawaii is the only body that can certify a Hawaiian document legitimate or not, and they did,. but the Cons can’t get over a black man winning the White House so they make false, specious attacks. Meanwhile Romney won’t come clean about his last 10 years shipping jobs to China.
