What is Dinky’s dark secret, that Momma Duck runs from him so quickly with the rest of her brood? Do we really want to know?

That was Dougie, his brothers and sisters, and his mom. They had to run cause they know the awful truth. Dinky’s mom had to abandon Dinky cause she just became Peking Duck. Shhhh, don’t tell Dinky.

Mother Nature is a ravenous two-faced bitch. And one day, as with all the rest of us, she’ll get hers. I take the ’toons lightly. Comments, not so much.

Lovecraft said, about 2 hours ago@avarner There seems to be something similar going on over at “Lio.”

That is what I am thinking. Seems these strips like to run alone the same theme a little to often

He should get some training from Guard Duck. Then he could go “hunting” for his family.

Guard Duck is NOT psychotic. Guard Duck is anybody with reason and means. There are more every year, look at Arabic Springtime…It’s like the balance of predators and prey…a few, versus many hundreds of fortunately objectionable and expendable billionaire Sherriffs of Nottinham versus a few plucky capable Robin Hoods to take ’em down. I have high hopes to be entertained by watching Wall Street and quite a few fat pasty .04 per centers go down under True Quack Foo

    Anybody remember,“If Ihad a rocket launcher…some sob would pay…?”

A litle bit better than, “If I had a hammer I’d…”,

Pig should look after the little duck.

    He would be great.

    But I wouldn’t trust Rat.

I had to slam on the brakes 2 weeks ago visiting my sister when a mother duck and her ducklings waddled right across the road. The last one stopped in the middle to preen himself I think just to show me who’s boss. Glad he didn’t pull out a bazooka.

I’ve told this one before somewhere, but when I was a kid visiting Granny’s farm, I noted that when Granny’s mother cat brought her kittens from the barn to the house, one was missing. So I searched around in the hayloft and found a pathetic little orange kitty. Carried him to the house, with his little claws clinging to my front (#ouch) and put him with his siblings. Well. He grew up to be the biggest, laziest, sorriest cat you ever did see. He’d try to nurse his mom after he was way bigger than she was. (Abandonment issues?) Maybe she’d known something that the rest of us didn’t.
